The Rochester Technology & Manufacturing Association (RTMA) announced it has received a gift from Canandaigua National Bank to support the Association’s sponsorship of the New York State Registered Apprenticeship Program. Canandaigua Bank awarded the RTMA $5,000 to support apprentices throughout the greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region.

Canandaigua National Bank chose the RTMA because the apprenticeship program aligns with the bank’s community development pillar by supporting workforce development and creating pathways for individuals to build skills and access long-term career opportunities. The RTMA will use the funds to support apprentices in need of tools, learning materials and personal protective equipment needed for their trade.

The RTMA partners with more than 45 companies on the NYS Registered Apprenticeship Program and offers 16 advanced manufacturing trades. To date, the RTMA has registered more than 400 apprentices with more than 100 earning a Journey Worker certificate and card with no educational debt.

To date, the Association has secured more than $3.5 million in funding to support apprentices and their companies through tuition assistance, tool reimbursement funds, incentives and more.  To learn more about the RTMA’s NYS Registered Apprenticeship Program, visit https://www.rtma.org/apprenticeships, call 585-510-6557, or email info@rtma.org.
