RTMA & Partners Host 2nd Annual Workforce Development Summit

The RTMA partnered with NextCorps, Monroe County Economic Development, MCUNY APEX Accelerator, and the Submarine Industrial Base on the second annual Workforce Development Summit. The event featured the RTMA's Registered Apprenticeship, Pre-Apprenticeship, and Youth Programs. The Association showcased the Real Life Rosies and Advance 2 Apprenticeship pre-apprenticeship programs and its sponsorship of the NYS Registered Apprenticeship Program.

"The pipeline is open and we are ready to help fill that," said Ruth Thompson, RTMA Pre-Apprenticeship & Training Manager. One of the RTMA signatory companies added, "If you are on the fence with working with the RTMA on apprenticeship, get off it."

The one-day event also featured other resources on how to build a skilled workforce and develop a supply chain to meet the growing demands of the defense and semiconductor industries. Other presenters included BuildSubmarines.com, Forged by Valor and STEP UP resources for the NY I-SMART Corridor.
