Benefits for Students and Businesses

FLYAP offers students a unique opportunity to "earn while they learn" by connecting high school juniors and seniors with leading manufacturers in the Finger Lakes region. The program provides high school students with hands-on training, exposure to advanced manufacturing processes, job shadows, and paid co-op experiences that lead to promising career paths. For businesses, FLYAP helps address the shortage of skilled labor by introducing young talent into the workforce, fostering a pipeline of future employees who are ready to contribute from day one.

Our Impact on Students

Since its launch in 2019, FLYAP has connected more than 800  students with over 150 businesses in the region. During their job shadows and paid co-ops, students gain valuable hands-on experience and industry knowledge to prepare them for the 21st-century workforce. FLYAP’s annual Signing Day events celebrate student and business participation by hosting a celebration for each location.
