Advance2Apprenticeship
Advance2Apprenticeship (A2A) is a pre-apprenticeship program offered by the RTMA in partnership with the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities. The program helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) prepare for successful careers in advanced manufacturing.
Participants receive classroom instruction aligned with registered apprenticeship programs, develop essential technical and workplace skills, and benefit from individualized learning supports.
Graduates are equipped for entry-level manufacturing roles such as machine operator, assembler, or technician — with opportunities to earn industry-recognized credentials and transition into a registered apprenticeship.
A2A is building an inclusive pathway to opportunity in manufacturing, empowering every learner to succeed.
The Advance2Apprenticeship® program is supported by funding from Empire State Development and NSF Energy Storage Engine in Upstate New York.
The next Advance2Apprenticeship training will run in the fall. Classes will be Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm at the FWD Center at MCC Downtown Campus.
