RTMA Sponsors Rochester Opportunity Fair

Rochester – The Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association (RTMA) partnered with Leadership Rochester, Teen Empowerment and several other organizations on Saturday, April 23, 2022 on the “Break the Stigma” Opportunity Fair and Talent Show to downtown Rochester.

The event was held at Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Park and promoted alternatives to college in the trades.  “Break the Stigma” also featured live music and youth performances, mock interviews, live demos and free refreshments.  The RTMA sponsored the event by providing water and soft drinks to attendees and also featured a hands-on exhibit for those interested in advanced manufacturing. The RTMA also displayed videos of the 15 trades it sponsors for the NYS registered apprenticeship program and talked to attendees about careers in manufacturing.

Dozens attended the event and walked away with a better understanding of careers and apprenticeships in advanced manufacturing in Rochester.  For more on the registered apprenticeships, check out https://www.rtma.org/apprenticeship/ or call the RTMA at (585) 510-6557.
